- Habit: Shoots arive from hypocotyl. Plants tend to fasciate.
- Leaves: Leaves not grown together
- Seedlings:
- Cotyledones: Cotyledones cup shaped with no functional growth cone.
- Hypocotyl:
- Inflorescence: Show only bracts.
- Flowers: Light colour. Flowers often fertile. Stamens partly grown together with the sepals.
- Upper lip:
- Lower lip: Pressed on the tube of bend upwards.
- Bumps: Bumps sideways compressed. High and deeply cut bumps.
