- Habit: Retarded growth, weak plants with soft tissue.
- Leaves: Leaves small, round and uneven.
- Seedlings:
- Cotyledones: Cotyledones with short stalks.
- Hypocotyl:
- Inflorescence:
- Flowers: Flowers malformed and twisted, smaller than normal. Flowrs have filamentous, petaloid protrusions. Tube dorsiventrally compressed. Typical hair and thorn-like protrusions on the petals.

- Seed:
- Roots: When the plants are grown on MS (
Murashige & Skoog
medium) the roots are found not to be straight, but somewhat thickened
and
tortuous ("krumpelig"). The number of root hairs is greater than normal.
Therefore the roots form rather a lump than a normal branched and
extended system. (Personal communication from I. Heidmann, 22. May 1997)
