- Habit: Growth strongly retarded but less than
phantasticaantiqua.
- Leaves: Leaves are irregular and partly reduced to needle size.
Leaves are often assymetric. Many somatic backmutations. Depending on the
time of the backmutation smaller or greater sectors arise, that are
mostly heterozygous.

- Flowers: Flowers are small and colourless. Upper and lower lips
are much reduced, bend upwards and have many spikelike outgrowths.
